Gallaudet's Kali Frowick named ECAC Division III South Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its players of the week for the week of Oct. 10 and Gallaudet University sophomore outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) was named the Division III Women's Volleyball South Player of the Week. This is the second award this week for Frowick, who was named North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Frowick's play guided the Bison to a perfect 5-0 week, including four matches in which Gallaudet did not drop a single set during NEAC Crossover play held at the Field House last weekend. She tallied 62 kills on the week, which was a team-high, and displayed an impressive attack percentage of .338 (62-14-142). She also contributed 40 digs, and two assists en route to 65 points in just 17 sets on the week. Frowick leads the NEAC in kills (339), kills per set (3.61) and total points (368) while the Bison sit at 7-0 in conference play and 22-5 overall.

Last season, Frowick was selected to the 2011 ECAC Division III Upstate/Metro volleyball all-star second team after leading the Bison to the NEAC championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament. She and teammate Sarah Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) were the only freshman named to the squad.

Gallaudet will host non-conference opponent Stevenson University on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. for the AVCA Dig Pink Night at the Field House. Dig Pink is a fundraising initiative of the Side-Out Foundation, which awards grants to medical research organizations and entities to serve breast cancer patients and their families. Fans are encouraged to wear something pink to the match to show support for the cause.
