Kali Frowick named NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Oct. 8 and Gallaudet University sophomore outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) was named NEAC Women's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her dominant performance at the net for the Bison last week.

Frowick's play led the Bison to a perfect 5-0 week, including four 3-0 sweeps during NEAC Crossover play held at the Field House last weekend. She tallied 62 kills, which was a team-high for the week, and had an attack percentage of .338 (62-14-142). She also contributed 40 digs and two assists en route to 65 points in 17 sets on the week. Frowick leads the NEAC in kills (339), kills per set (3.61) and total points (368) while the Bison sit at 7-0 in conference play and 22-5 overall. 

GU has earned four NEAC student-athlete of the week awards this season led by senior middle hitter Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.), who has been honored twice on Sept. 10 and Oct. 1 while fellow senior outside hitter Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.) was recognized on Sept. 17.

Gallaudet takes a break from their conference slate when they host Stevenson University on Thursday, Oct. 11, for the AVCA Dig Pink Night. Dig Pink is a fundraising initiative of the Side-Out Foundation, which awards grants to medical research organizations and entities to serve breast cancer patients and their families. The game begins at 7 p.m. at the Field House and fans are encouraged to wear something pink to show support.
