Gallaudet Bison

Coach O'Brien has been with Gallaudet volleyball for 21 seasons. He is currently serving his fourth season with Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren. Patrick works as the Information Technology Lead Specialist with the Internal Revenue Service; he is a graduate of Gallaudet, class of 1985.

"Pat" has received a multitude of honors over his storied career, including CAC Coach of the Year in 2003. The veteran coach has seen Gallaudet's squads take six CAC Conference Championships (1992, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2001 and 2003). He has also served on various Deaflympic teams, for both the men and women. Altogether, the Americans have brought home three medals out of his four stints as head coach. Pat will be serving as the Team Director for the 2009 Deaflympics in Taiwan with Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren. Coach O'Brien is married to Kathy, and the couple reside in Bowie, Maryland.
