GU women's cross country competes at Dickinson Long/Short Course Invitational

NEVILLE, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women’s cross country team placed 23rd overall at the Dickinson Long/Short Course Invitational on Saturday held at Big Spring High School. The women’s long course featured 24 teams from all across the region.

Haverford placed first as a team in the long course standings with 20 points followed by Muhlenberg (36 points), Swarthmore (45), Dickinson (45) and Geneva (72) in the top five spots. The Bison accumulated 297 team points and edged out Rosemont (324 points). North Eastern Athletic Conference foe Penn St.-Berks finished 16th with 190 points. Bryn Mawr senior Kristina Kronauer won the long course race in 22 minutes, 54 seconds.

Sophomore Lindsey Corthell (Orlando, Fla.) was the first Bison to finish as she crossed the finish line in 28 minutes, 52 seconds and placed 157th overall. Junior Shadoe Williamson (Austin, Texas) placed 184th overall (31:21) and was closely followed by freshman Nicole Musey (Prince George, British Columbia) in 186th place (31:34). Sophomore Rachel Young (Leesburg, Va.) crossed the finish line in 198th place (32:28). Freshman Jill Schellekens (Vancouver, British Columbia) was the fifth and final runner to finish with team points for the buff and blue.

Gallaudet is off next week before it participates in the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m.
