SALISBURY, Md. - Senior Kristi Luna (Austin, Texas) cracked the Gallaudet University women's cross country 6K record board here Saturday at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University at Winter Place Park. Luna completed the flat course with a blazing time of 26 minutes, 22.97 seconds to finish 53rd overall. Her time is now the seventh fastest in school history.
Gallaudet finished 10th overall out of 11 teams with 270 team points. East Stroudsburg won the meet with 37 points followed by the host Sea Gulls in second place (49 points) and Bridgewater (Va.) College in third (107).East Stroudsburg senior Kaylyn West won the race as she crossed the finish line in 21:39.47.
Sophomore Nicole Musey (Prince George, British Columbia) was the second Bison to finish as she crossed in 67th place with a time of 27:51.68. Senior Shellane McKitty (Bronx, N.Y.) placed 74th (28:44.18) while freshman Taylor Nguyen (Ballwin, Mo.) was close on her heels in 76th place (28:46.17). Sophomore Fatuma Ali (Tucson, Ariz.) was the fifth Bison to finish and earn team points as she placed 86th overall (30:27.85).

- Senior Lourdes Valenzuela (Sonora, Mexico) was 99th (34:19.38)
- Senior Yudan Liu (Chengdu, China) was 105th (37:45.43)
- There were 106 runners and 11 teams in the field
Gallaudet will travel to Towson, Md., next weekend to run in the Goucher Classic on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m.
