Parent & Son Basketball Clinic

Ages: Boys ages 7-14

The Gallaudet University men's basketball program will host a Parent & Son Basketball Clinic on Sunday, June 3, from 1-4 p.m. in the Field House. The clinic is open to boys ages 7-14 and their parent/guardian (father, mother, etc.). The cost is $30 per person and includes a free t-shirt. The event is limited to 50 participants meaning 25 sons and 25 parent/guardians.

Mike Glenn's All-Star Basketball Camp for the Deaf

Mike Glenn's All-Star Basketball Camp for the Deaf will be Celebrating their 39th Anniversary, June 17 thru June 22, 2018. This non-profit organization is the Nations First Basketball Camp for Deaf Athletes ages 14 to 18 attending Junior High or High School. Space is limited and "Basketball Skills" are required. In order to attend, campers must be approved by the Mike Glenn or members of the coaching staff.

The Mike Glenn Basketball Camp is a team camp open to Deaf kids across the nation. Select hearing teams from the metro Atlanta area also attend the camp by invitation only. Each year the camp features guest coaches and speakers from professional sports to encourage the campers to reach their goals and follow their dreams. Translators for the Deaf campers as well as the Hearing assist the kids to communicate with each other.

National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp

When: June 25-29, 2018
Where: Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Md.

Cost: $275 before May 15, $300 after May 15
The fee covers lodging, meals, gear and WNBA experience.
Ages: Girls in 4th-12th grade (All skill levels welcome)

This 'first-class' camp is all about providing mentorship/role models for deaf female athletes as well as developing opportunities for young student-athletes on and off the court. The National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp is the only basketball camp for deaf females that provides direct communication amongst coaches and fellow campers while creating an unforgettable experience that cannot be found anywhere else.

  • An evaluation from staff members that will include the campers' strengths and areas needing improvement
  • Outstanding speakers (professional, college and high school coaches), who will discuss aspects of basketball
  • WNBA game: Washington Mystics vs. New York Liberty on Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m.
  • Awards to campers and winners of special contests
  • Camp t-shirts and shorts for all participants

Got Skills? Middle School Sports and Leadership Camp

Ages: Middle School Students (entering 7th-9th grade in Fall 2018)

Designed for deaf and hard of hearing middle school students who will be in the 7th-9th grade in the Fall of 2018. Campers will design their own camp experience by choosing between blocks of leadership and/or sports programs. There is also an outing to Six Flags America as well!
