Bison athletics excited to welcome all for Homecoming Weekend

WASHINGTON – Gallaudet University athletics is excited to celebrate homecoming this weekend and welcome all Gallaudet alumni and supporters back to campus along with our current faculty, staff and student body. Supporters will have plenty of opportunities to cheer on the Bison as women's volleyball, football and men's and women's swimming and diving will be competing at home this weekend.

The Gallaudet women's volleyball team (18-13) is coming off of a strong showing at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Crossover Weekend as the Bison swept three NEAC opponents, placing them in a tie for first in the conference. The Bison start homecoming weekend this Friday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. against out of conference opponent Hood College (5-18). Immediately following the volleyball match, there will be a pep rally held in the Field House at 7:30 p.m.

Also on Friday, Bison football coach Chuck Goldstein invites and welcomes all former Gallaudet football alumni to attend the teams practice on Friday at 4:45 p.m. The practice will be held at Hotchkiss Field and will go until 6 p.m. Plus, the Bison women's soccer team (2-13-2, 1-8-1 NEAC) look to end their season with a win as they travel to Chambersburg, Pa., to take on Wilson College (4-11, 0-9 NEAC) this Friday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m.

On Saturday, start the day off by supporting the men's and women's swimming teams as they host their first meet at home this season against NEAC opponent SUNY Cobleskill at 11 a.m. The homecoming parade will be held on the track of Hotchkiss Field and start around 12:15 p.m., prior to the football game. The undefeated Bison football team (6-0, 3-0 ECFC), who is currently having their best start in school history, is looking to continue their eight-game winning streak as they host Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) foe Husson University (4-2, 3-0 ECFC) at Hotchkiss Field at 1 p.m.

Bison athletics looks forward to seeing Gallaudet fans out in full force this weekend to support the buff and blue. GO BISON!
