WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Gallaudet University baseball program, guided by former Major League Baseball player and current Bison coach Curtis Pride, is excited to make two important announcements. Pride is proud to announce the formation of the Bison Baseball Club and that the program will be hosting a Homecoming BBQ on October 24.
The mission of the Bison Club is to help generate involvement and support from GU alumni, students, family and friends. This is vital support in the development of the Bison baseball program so it can compete at the highest level of NCAA Division III.
"I want everyone in the Gallaudet family to share in the success of our hard work and dedication. I know that together we can take our baseball program to the next level," said Pride.
The funds generated through the Bison Baseball Club will be used to support basic and essential needs such as; spring training travel expenses, practice equipment and apparel as well as video equipment for webcasting home games for parents, friends and prospective recruits.
The Bison Baseball Club will host several events and fundraisers each year starting with a Homecoming Barbeque catered by "Famous Dave's BBQ" on October 24 and the 1st annual Bison Baseball Golf Tournament slated to take place in 2010.
As a member of the Bison Baseball Club, you can be an integral part of the overall success of a program that is headed toward being one of the elite Division III baseball programs in the country.
