Bison begin Spring Break trip with 4-2 win over Ramapo

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Gallaudet University baseball team extended its winning streak to eight games when the Bison defeated Ramapo College, 4-2, on Saturday night at Lake Myrtle Field. This was the first Spring Break game for the Bison.

Gallaudet (9-3) scored a run in the fifth through eighth innings as it collected eight hits, one from eight different batters, in the ninth win of the season. Junior starting pitcher Brandon Holsworth (4-1) picked up the win as he pitched seven innings where he allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, one walk and struck out six.

Seniors JJ Klein (Cincinnati, Ohio), Chris Guinn (McLoud, Okla.) and freshman Justin Strong (Charlotte, N.C.) had one RBI in the win for the Bison.

Ramapo (1-1) relief pitcher Kyle Doerr (0-1) suffered the loss as he allowed the third run in the game in the seventh inning. Starting pitcher Kevin Lee went six innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits, walked one and struck out eight.

GU will play Allegheny College tomorrow (Sunday, March 16) in a doubleheader.
