WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University baseball program has officially released its schedule for Spring 2016 as announced by head coach Curtis Pride, now in his eighth season. The schedule features 21 home games, 13 on the road, as well as a Spring Break trip that will feature a handful of game.
GU kicks off the season at Hoy Field on Thursday, Feb. 18 against Christopher Newport University at 2 p.m. The Bison will then head to Thomasville, N.C. for the weekend to face former North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Penn St.-Harrisburg before a stretch of 10 home games.
Gallaudet will play five home games to start March before heading to Spring Break from March 11-19. The Bison return home to face in-region powerhouse Frostburg State University on March 20 before hosting Hood College on March 23. GU and Rivier will meet again in Waldorf, Md., at Regency Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, on Friday, March 25. The month ends on the road at Catholic University of America on Tues., March 29, at 3:30 p.m.
Gallaudet won't see NEAC action until April when it travels to Penn St.-Berks for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2. GU then travels to national power Shenandoah University on April 3. The Bison play 14 conference games during the month and the first home conference match up will be played on April 23 in a doubleheader against Penn College. GU close out the month with home conference doubleheader games against Keuka (April 24) and Penn St.-Abington (April 30).
The first day of May the Bison will host St. Mary's College of Maryland for Senior Day, their last home game, and the last regular-season game. The NEAC tournament will be held on March 6-8 at the site of the highest seed.
