GU baseball ranked eighth in NEAC coaches preseason poll

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University baseball team was picked eighth in the 2018 North Eastern Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll released Wednesday.

GU finished the 2017 season with a 9-31 record and a 4-12 NEAC mark. The Bison received 24 total points in the 10-team poll.

Penn St.-Berks, the two-time defending NEAC champions, are No. 1 as the Nittany Lions received five first-place votes and 77 points. NEAC runner-up Penn College was ranked second with three first-place votes and 73 points. Penn St.-Abington and Keuka College followed in third and fourth place, respectively, as they both received one first-place vote.

The Bison open their season Sunday, Feb. 18, as they welcome University of Valley Forge to Hoy Field for a non-conference doubleheader at noon.
