Gallaudet's Todd Collins named to the Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS - Gallaudet University senior offensive lineman Todd Collins (Amityville, N.Y.) was named to the Team of the Week after a magnificent performance for the Bison on Senior Day. This is Collins' first time receiving the honor and only the sixth time in Gallaudet history that a player has earned this distinction.

Collins, a versatile player, played multiple positions for a depleted Gallaudet team that only played 28 players in a tough 24-20 loss to Anna Maria at Hotchkiss Field. Collins has been a leader for the Bison offensive line during his career but had to switch jersey numbers and start the game at tight end. Collins scored his first collegiate touchdown late in the second quarter on a one-yard run, then ran in the two-point conversion to give GU a 14-0 lead. The Bison took a 14-3 advantage into halftime. Collins also played on special teams and defense on the defensive line as he recorded three tackles.

At one point in the second half, Collins went down with an injury and was carried off the field by fellow senior offensive lineman Leo Parnell (Boston, Mass.). At several minutes, Collins walked off the injury and went back into the game. Collins left it all on the field in his final appearance in a Bison uniform at home.

In his career, Collins has been named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) first team offense (2014) and second team offense (2013). provides comprehensive coverage of Division III football throughout the country. For more information about please visit their website
