MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its weekly honors for the week of Oct. 31 and freshman running back Elisha Spinosi (Lanham, Md.) was awarded Rookie of the Week for his performance last Saturday afternoon.
Spinosi scored two touchdowns for Gallaudet as the Bison defeated Castleton University, 21-17, on homecoming before a crowd of 3,844 at Hotchkiss Field. Spinosi scored the game's first and last scores. He raced in from 11 yards out for the eventual game-winning touchdown with 9:03 left in the fourth quarter to give GU the four-point lead. He started the day with a five-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter as the Bison led 7-0.
Two players from Husson University were honored after their victory over Becker College. Junior running back John Smith was named the ECFC Offensive Player of the Week and Husson's junior defensive back Jean Gabriel was honored as the ECFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Mt. Ida's senior linebacker Sean Chinova was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week.
