GU's Jack Gray named to the Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS - Gallaudet University freshman strong safety Jack Gray (Atherton, Calif.) was named to the Team of the Week after a stellar debut with the Bison last Saturday night at Shenandoah University. This is Gray's first time receiving the honor and only the seventh time in Gallaudet history that a player has earned this distinction.

Gray had a hand in three turnovers on Saturday night, two of which led to Gallaudet scores. In the first quarter, Gray tackled the ball carrier at the two-yard line, causing a fumble out of the end zone for a touchback. GU marched 80 yards on 10 plays and ended with a 12-yard touchdown pass to begin the game. Late in the third quarter, Gray intercepted a Shenandoah pass in the red zone and returned it nine yards. Gallaudet scored 11 plays later on an 18-yard touchdown run.

Gray's second forced fumble happened late in the second quarter with the Hornets marching into Gallaudet's red zone. Gray jarred the ball loose from SU running back Mario Wisdom, for a second time in the game, at the Gallaudet 15.

Gray finished with two forced fumbles, one interception seven tackles, and one pass breakup.
