Gallaudet's Cameron Ethington to receive National Capital Region Chapter Scholarship

WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University offensive lineman Cameron Ethington (Bryans Road, Md.) will be honored Sunday, April 22, at the 12th annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet hosted by the National Capital Region Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF). Ethington will receive The Scholar-Athlete Award, a $1,000 scholarship.

The Banquet will be held at the prestigious Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va., and will begin at 5 p.m. with a reception, the program getting underway at 6 p.m.

Over 500 attendees including, parents and family, school officials and dignitaries of the NFF will be present.

This is the sixth time the chapter has honored a collegiate student-athlete. Gallaudet's Brad Peterson (DuBois, Pa.) was honored last year while Sean Fenton (Chicago, Ill.) was selected in 2016, BJ Flores was selected in 2015, Todd Bonheyo in 2014 and Adham Talaat in 2013.

The National Capital Region Chapter was established in 2004-05 and is chapter No. 115 out of 120 in the NFF Family. The National Capital Region Chapter includes schools in northern Virginia, District of Columbia and Southern Maryland. The chapter supports the NFF Mission of; the National Football Foundation is committed to the mission of scholarship, citizenship, and performance in the game of amateur football and in promoting this great sport.

Ethington is majoring in informational technology. He started in eight games his freshman season (2015) and since then he has started in all 10 games for the Bison the past two seasons. He has played in a total of 28 games for the buff and blue. Ethington will enter his senior season this fall.
