WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University football program in collaboration with the Athletics Department, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) supports and sponsors Saturday's suicide awareness event in conjunction with the Bison home football game (Oct. 13) at Hotchkiss Field. Gallaudet plays host to Castleton University in an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) contest slated to kick-off at noon.
Fans are encouraged to wear purple to show their support for suicide awareness and prevention. The first 200 fans will receive a special purple suicide prevention t-shirt. All proceeds from this game will be donated to the AFSP.
This event was originally scheduled for the GU home opener against Apprentice School on Sept. 15 but that game got cancelled due to Hurricane Florence.
