Bison win back-to-back games to close out homestand

WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the second time this season the Gallaudet University men's basketball team won back-to-back games as the Bison defeated Lancaster Bible College, 59-41, on Wednesday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game in the Field House.

Gallaudet (7-8, 3-2 NEAC) moves one game closer to .500 for the year and is tied in the NEAC with Morrisville St. for the most overall wins (seven). GU sweeps the season series with the Chargers (1-12, 1-4 NEAC). Overall the Bison hold a 4-2 series advantage against Lancaster Bible.

The Bison trailed for a brief moment at the start of the game but took the lead from the Chargers and never looked back en route to the 18-point victory.

Junior forward Orion Palmer (Riverside, Calif.) led all-scorers with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Senior center Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) scored 12 points and brought down six rebounds while fellow senior Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) added nine points and six rebounds. GU led 35-18 at halftime.

Lancaster Bible was paced by guard Dan Karl's 11 points followed by Keith Keltner's nine points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Gallaudet concludes its three-game homestand with a 2-1 mark and will hit the road this weekend. The Bison head north to New York to take on Keuka College (Saturday, Jan. 12) and Wells College (Sunday, Jan. 13) in two conference games. The Keuka game is slated to tip at 3 p.m.
