GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Nov. 24 and junior guard Trey Gordon (Talladega, Ala.) was chosen as the NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after outstanding performances last week.
Gordon led the Bison to a pair of victories, including a conference win, after averaging 23 points, 10 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 63 percent (17 of 27) from the field and 50 percent (7 of 14) from 3-point land. Gordon opened the week with game highs of 21 points and 12 rebounds in a non-conference win over Christendom College on the road last Thursday before leading all players with 25 points thanks in part to hitting five 3-pointers in a win over NEAC foe Penn College last Saturday, where he also finished with game highs of eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Gordon is now averaging a NEAC-best 22.3 points per game on the season while also leading the conference in total 3-pointers made with 12 through three Bison contests.
This is Gordon's first NEAC Player of the Week award and the first Gallaudet Bison to earn a NEAC award this season.
Gallaudet (2-1) will host Sarah Lawrence (1-3) on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m.
