Three-pointers key Gallaudet's 68-49 win at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Three-pointers reign in for Gallaudet University on Saturday as it defeated Penn College, 68-49, on the road in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.

Gallaudet (7-3, 3-1 NEAC) got back in the win column, after it suffered the first conference loss two days ago, thanks to making 11 three-pointers. The Bison jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead thanks to two three-pointers. The Bison made eight of their 11 three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes where they led 40-19 at intermission.

Senior guard Ben Coleman (St. Paris, Ohio) made 5 of 8 three-pointers in the first half en route to a game-high 18 points. All of Coleman's points came from long range as he added one three-pointer in the second half. Junior Trey Gordon (Talladega, Ala.) knocked down four three-pointers to tally 16 points to go with four rebounds, four assists. Sophomore forward Joshua McGriff (Somerset, N.J.) was the third Bison in double figures as he recorded a double-double with 11 points and a game best 14 rebounds. Senior guard Anton Jackson (Detroit, Mich.) scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds while junior guard Todd Bonheyo (Frederick, Md.) passed out nine assists. Freshman forward Andy Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) matched McGriff with 14 rebounds. 

Penn College (2-9, 1-4 NEAC) was paced by Kevin Laurence-El's 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists as the Wildcats shot 32.8 percent from the field (21 of 64). The Bison outrebounded the Wildcats by 20, 50-30, and outscored them 24-20 in the post.

The Bison led from start to finish and held a 29-point lead midway through the second half. 

Gallaudet returns home where it will host NEAC foe SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m.
