Gallaudet's Andy Cruz named NEAC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its conference student-athlete of the week awards for the week of Dec. 4 and Gallaudet University's senior Andy Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) was selected as the NEAC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Cruz led the Bison to a pair of conference victories last week. In an 86-78 win over Penn St.-Berks, Cruz posted 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks in the NEAC opener. Over the weekend, the senior forward scored a career-high 30 points in a 95-88 victory at the College of Saint Elizabeth. Cruz completed the double-double with 13 rebounds to go with four assists, three steals and two blocks.

For the week, Cruz totaled 48 points, 22 rebounds, nine assists, eight steals and four blocks while shooting 44.4 percent from the field.

This is Gallaudet's first NEAC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season and Cruz's first career NEAC award.
