GU men's basketball ranked No. 5 in NEAC preseason coaches poll

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team will enter the 2017-18 season ranked fifth overall in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll. The Bison accumulated 127 points and one first-place vote in the conference poll that was released Wednesday.

GU is coming off a record-setting 20-6 season as the Bison set school records for wins (20) and conference wins (18) as GU went 18-2 in NEAC play. Gallaudet ended its season in the NEAC semifinal round with a 72-68 loss to Morrisville State College.

The Mustangs are the preseason No. 1 team with 165 points and 12 first-place votes for the defending conference champs. Lancaster Bible College is second with 147 points as the Chargers edged out SUNY Polytechnic Institute, who checks in at No. 3, with 146 points. Wells College was the other program to receive a first-place vote as the Express were picked fourth (134).
