WASHINGTON - Members of Gallaudet University's men's basketball program left the nation's capital Wednesday, August 14, bound for San Jose, Costa Rica, via Houston. The Bison begun its Beyond Sports Tours trip that will last until Aug. 22. This is Gallaudet athletics first international trip in school history.
"We are very excited for our first summer international tour," said Gallaudet men's basketball coach Kevin Kovacs. "We want to thank our student-athletes' families, parents and other Bison supporters for their efforts and generous donations to make this trip happen. We look forward to the cultural experience and making a difference along with making new friends in Costa Rica. We also want to thank the Gallaudet administration and teams on campus for their support and for making this opportunity a reality. We would love to see other Bison teams have this opportunity in the future."
Gallaudet's contingent includes; Kovacs, Andy Cruz, Shawn Daniels, Joel Dramin, Giovanni Maucere, Dylan Sicoli, Jason Smith, Wilford Troup, Noah Valencia and John Werner Jr..
