GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team was picked 12th in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll released on Thursday. The Bison accumulated 40 points in the 14-team preseason poll.
Gallaudet posted a 2-13-2 overall record last season, its first since the 2012 season, and went 1-11 in conference play.
Two-time defending NEAC champion Morrisville State College was picked first with 12 first-place votes and 168 points. Three teams earned 142 points but the tie was broken by higher ordinal number points thus placing Wells College second followed by Lancaster Bible College and Keuka College. SUNY Polytechnic Institute (fifth place) and Penn St.-Abington (seventh place) received the other first-place votes.
The Bison will host Goldey-Beacom in a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field.

No self-voting was allowed. This is the second year the NEAC has held preseason polls and they will now become a staple of all 18 conference-sponsored sports moving forward.
