Bison tripped up by SUNY Cobleskill, 2-1

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team fell to SUNY Cobleskill, 2-1, here Saturday afternoon in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.

SUNY Cobleskill (3-7, 1-2 NEAC) scored the game's first goal in the 30th minute on a Moussa Bamba goal off an assist from Aboubacar Konate. The Fighting Tigers added a second goal, three minutes later, when Kalifala Konneh scored off an assist from Mame Amar.

The Fighting Tigers led 2-0 at the half as they held a 18-6 edge in shots over the Bison.

Gallaudet (1-9, 1-3 NEAC) got on the scoreboard in the 81st minute when junior forward Tim Artinian (Henrietta, N.Y.) scored off an assist from freshman forward Raymond Mukhailov (New York, N.Y.) to cut the Fighting Tigers lead in half.

The Bison couldn't find an equalizer as they dropped their fourth straight game.

Sophomore goalie Noah Means-Simonsen (Louisville, Ky.) made 11 saves while the Bison defense came up with four team saves in the loss. Sam Sherbacow had three saves for the Fighting Tigers.

  • The Fighting Tigers outshot Gallaudet 29-10

Gallaudet remains in New York and will travel over to SUNY Poly (4-7, 2-2 NEAC) tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 8) for a noon conference game.
