Gallaudet begins homestand with close game with Marymount (Va.)

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team began a four-game homestand here Tuesday evening at Hotchkiss Field against nearby Marymount (Va.) University. The Bison played a clean game and produced more scoring chances in a tightly contested game. Marymount (1-4) earned its first win of the season with the 2-0 shutout over the Bison (0-4).

Gallaudet senior forward Sean Huber (Orange, Calif.) led the offense with six shots, two shots on goal, as the Bison recorded 13 shots (five shots on goal). Sophomore goalie Noah Means-Simonsen (Louisville, Ky.) made eight saves in net.

Marymount got on the scoreboard in the 34th minute when Anthony Calderon scored off an assist from Levis Lopez. The Saints added a second goal, right before halftime, when Ricky Golden got a shot past the Bison defense in the 41st minute.

Marymount outshot Gallaudet in the second half 13-9.

Gallaudet will host Eastern Mennonite University (4-1) on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. under the lights at Hotchkiss Field.
