WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's soccer program officially released its schedule for Fall 2018 as announced by head coach Pedro Braz, in his fourth season. The team posted its third straight five-win season and won four of its final five games, including three straight to end the season 5-12 overall and 4-6 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The four conference wins are the most by a Bison team since they joined the conference in 2010.
The 2018 schedule features 18 games with eight at home.
Gallaudet will hit the road and travel to the Bluegrass State to kick-off the 2018 campaign. GU begins the season at Centre (Ky.) College on Friday, Aug. 31, before heading over to Spalding University on Sunday, Sept. 2. Centre reached the Southern Athletic Association championship game last season and posted a 12-5-2 record.
GU returns to the nation's capital to begin its home slate and conference play against College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, Sept. 8. The Bison then travel out-of-conference to Southern Virginia University (Sept. 12) before beginning a five-game NEAC stretch. Gallaudet will host Penn College (Sept. 15) and Penn St.-Abington (Sept. 19), defending NEAC champions, before heading to Penn St.-Berks (Sept. 22). The Bison close out the month at home against Wells College (Sept. 29) and Keuka College (Sept. 30).
The month of October begins with Gallaudet in Virginia to face Eastern Mennonite (Oct. 3) before a road trip to SUNY Poly (Oct. 6). The buff and blue return home to host SUNY Cobleskill (Oct. 13) on Hoy Field. GU will host University of Valley Forge (Oct. 17) before a three-game NEAC slate. Gallaudet will make its final New York trip of the season with games at Morrisville State College (Oct. 20) and Cazenovia College (Oct. 21). GU will venture to Lancaster, Pa., on Oct. 24 to face the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College before returning home one final time during the regular season. GU will play host to Marymount (Va.) University on Oct. 26 during homecoming and senior day under the lights at Hotchkiss Field.
The NEAC tournament will begin with quarterfinals on Oct. 30, followed by semifinals on Nov. 3 and the NEAC championship match on Nov. 4.
