GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) released its conference awards for the week of October 31, and Gallaudet University swimmer Brian Bennett (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was honored for a second straight week as the NEAC Men’s Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week for another stellar performance last Saturday.
The senior won two individual races and was a member of the first-place 400-yard medley relay team as the Bison cruised to a 121-63 win against Greensboro College at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. Bennett finished first in the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events, with times of 5:06.97 and 11:20.92, respectively. The relay team won with a time of 4 minutes, 22.40 seconds.
Bennett, last season’s NEAC Men’s Swimmer of the Year, received the weekly NEAC Men’s Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week four times during the 2010-11 season. He was honored with the conference's first weekly award last week (Oct. 24).
The Bison are back in action for their first conference meet at home against SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, November 12, at 1 p.m.
