GU's men's team swims unopposed at Cazenovia College

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's swimming and diving team swam unopposed at Cazenovia College on Friday and won with 123 team points.

Freshman Gideon Firl (Frederick, Md.) is emerging into one of Gallaudet's top swimmers as he continued to drop time on Friday night. Firl improved on his sprint freestyle performance from last week's meet, cutting two seconds off the 50-yard freestyle (25.77 seconds) and four seconds off the 100 freestyle (58.06). Junior captain Ryan Klock (Payullup, Wash.) cut 17 seconds off of his 200 freestyle from last week (2:21.33).

Junior Xuan Lin (Mount Prospect, Ill.) was first in the 200 IM as he touched the wall in 3:02.02.

The meet served as a preview for the Bison, who will return here in February for the 2016 NEAC swimming and diving championships.

The Bison will travel to Roanoke, Va., to face Ferrum College next week, Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m.
