GU men's swimming swept on the road

ROANOKE, Va. – The Gallaudet University men's swimming and diving team lost both meets Saturday against Hampden-Sydney College (158-41) and Ferrum College (91-73) in a double dual meet hosted by Hollins University.

Freshman Gideon Firl (Frederick, Md.) continued to lead the Bison, scoring well in three categories; he finished second in the 200-yard IM (2:24.20), third in the 100 butterfly (1:06.18) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.31). Firl shaved six seconds off his personal best time in the 100 butterfly and close to four seconds off his 100 breaststroke time.

Junior captain Ryan Klock (Payullup, Wash.) finished in third place in the 50 freestyle with a new personal best time of 26.20 seconds. Klock was fourth in the 500 freestyle (6:36.59) and fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:13.63).
