CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University men's swimming and diving program dropped back in the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship team rankings Saturday at the Schneeweiss Athletic Complex. The Bison fell back a spot from second to third place on the second day of competition. GU has some ground to make up on Sunday, the final day of competition.

Wells College increased its point total 134 points from 115 to 249 as the Express sit in first place. SUNY Cobleskill checks in with 217 points followed by Gallaudet (171) and Cazenovia (33).

Sophomore Ben Sealts (Ottawa, Ohio) set a new conference championship record in the 100-yard butterfly as he touched the wall in 55.07 seconds. While the time was good for a new NEAC championship record it is not fast enough for the Gallaudet program record.

Gu's 200-yard medley relay team placed third overall (2:23.50). The team consisted of freshman Nick Hohrman (Fergus Falls, Minn.), sophomore Xiangming Liu (Dandong, China), Sealts and sophomore Abe Polanco (Devine, Texas).

BISON TRACKS

  • Hohrman was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:27.55)
  • Liu recorded a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:50.74)
  • Polanco finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:51.91)
