GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its conference student-athlete of the week awards for the week of Nov. 13 and Gallaudet University sophomore Ben Sealts (Ottawa, Ohio) was selected as the NEAC Men's Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Gallaudet won 10 of 11 events to defeat Wells, 115-47, over the weekend with Sealts winning three events. The sophomore swimmer finished 30.97 seconds ahead of the competition to place first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.38. Sealts also finished first in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke with times of 56.85 and 1:04.82, respectively.
Wells College senior Courtney Cloutier was selected as the NEAC Women's Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks after a team win at Gallaudet. Cloutier won three individual events as the Express topped the Bison, 115-65. The Wells senior won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:32.47 before a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:11.19. Cloutier wrapped up the event with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.55 to finish 16.6 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
This is Gallaudet's fourth NEAC Swimming & Divining Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season and Sealts' sixth career NEAC weekly award.
Gallaudet will host Marymount (Va.) University on Friday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m.
