SALISBURY, MD--Gallaudet's Outdoor Track and Field team participated in the Salisbury Opener to kick off its 2008 slate and return to competition after a year-long hiatus.
While the meet was not scored, the Bison had student-athletes do well in their individual events. Kari Olney tied for fourth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:36.28. Amanda Sortwell ran the 400 meters in 1:16.0, good for a fourth-place finish.
On the men's side, Matt Schindel participated in the javelin throw, long jump and 100-meter dash. Jonathan Chanin ran the 100 and 200-meters, with Chris Corrigan running the 400-meter event. Corrigan posted a time of 1:01.9, good for a top-10 finish.
The Bison will participate in the Battleground Relays at the University of Mary Washington on March 28-29. The meet starts at 1:30 p.m. on the 28th and 10:00 a.m. on the 29th.
