For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
Gallaudet University freshman sprinter Eric Gregory (Metairie, La.) made the cut in the 200-meter dash as he had the 14th fastest time out of the Top 20 in the event. Gregory posted a time of 21.39 seconds back on April 20 at the Gallaudet University Invitational. Gregory's time was a personal record and a new school record.
Jordan Leverette from Baldwin Wallace University has the top time of 20.89 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Gregory becomes Gallaudet's first NCAA championship qualifier since 2013 when Darius Flowers finished seventh in the triple jump and 13th in the long jump. Flowers was a two-time All-American in the triple jump and nearly earned a third when he placed ninth in 2012 after he placed sixth in 2011.
Gregory is the first NCAA championship qualifier under Gallaudet coach Byron Moore since he took the head coach reigns in 2014-15.
The championships will be held May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, and hosted by University of Mount Union. The 200-meter dash preliminaries will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 5 p.m.
