Hohneke leads Gallaudet's men's team at Goucher Classic

TOWSON, Md. - The Gallaudet University men's cross country team ran here Saturday at the Goucher Classic. Due to official course error, the finishes are skewed according to the Goucher College Athletics Department. While the top finishes and the team point scores are not official the Gallaudet times are correct.

The U.S. Naval Academy took the overall win while the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy was top Division III program.

Gallaudet freshman Chance Hohneke (Lehi, Utah) was Gallaudet's top runner to finish the 8K course as he clocked in at 35:26.07. He was followed by sophomore Kai Christenberry (Birmingham, Ala.), who posted a time of 38:23.40, while freshman Fangen Thompson (Hangzhou, China) was two spots back with a time of 38:29.74. Junior Gunner Hahn (Ogema, Wis.) was the fourth Bison to finish with a time of 40:36.92 while Christian Jacobs (Claremont, Calif.) was the fifth Bison to help GU earn team points with his time of 45:20.58.


  • Sophomore David Hernandez (Jacksonville, Texas) was the sixth Bison to finish the race with a time of 47:48.93.

Gallaudet will next run at the Hood College Open next Saturday, Oct. 14, at Utica Park in Frederick, Md., at 11:10 a.m.
