FREDERICK, Md. - The Gallaudet University men's cross country team finished 11th out of 12 teams here Saturday at the Hood College Open held at Utica Park.
Frostburg State University won the meet with 71 team points as the Bobcats edged out Franklin & Marshall University (75 points) and The Catholic University of America (94). McDaniel College junior Gavin Gibson won the race as he completed the 8K course in 26 minutes, 24.0 seconds.
Freshman Chance Hohneke (Lehi, Utah) was Gallaudet's top runner as he crossed the finish line in 30:56.9 in 57th place. Sophomore Kai Christenberry (Birmingham, Ala.) was GU's second runner to finish the course in 86th place (34:45.3). He was followed by junior Gunner Hahn (Ogema, Wis.) in 95th place (36:09.6), sophomore Michael Haynes (Olivette, Mo.) in 107th place (38:22.8) and junior Chris Webb (Alexandria, Va.) in 114th (43:13.3).

Gallaudet is off next week as it prepares for the 2017 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) cross country championship set for Saturday, Oct. 28, in Morrisville, N.Y.
