COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University men's cross country team finished ninth at the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship here Saturday afternoon hosted by SUNY Cobleskill.
SUNY Cobleskill won its fifth conference championship, its first since 2012, with 49 team points as the host had five runners in the top 22 spots. The Fighting Tigers were followed by SUNY Poly (58 team points), Morrisville State College (82), Penn St.-Berks (103), Penn College (120), Lancaster Bible College (131), Penn St.-Abington (192), Keuka College (227), Gallaudet (250) and Penn St.-Harrisburg (260).
SUNY Cobleskill sophomore Jared Craw won the 93-runner 8K race in 26 minutes, 14 seconds, and took home 2019 NEAC Men's Runner of the Year honors.
Sophomore Jared Spinale (Camby, Ind.) was Gallaudet's top runner in the race as he crossed the finish line in 41st place with a time of 31:38, over five minutes and 24 seconds behind the first-place time. Spinale was over two minutes behind the cut-off for all-conference (top 21 spots).
Freshman Robert Saligman (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the second Bison to finish the race in 64th place (33:36) followed by fellow freshman Mbisana Kgakgamatso (Molepolole, Botswana) in 68th place (34:18). Junior Dalton Attanasi (Hammonton, N.J.) was under a minute behind Kgakgamatso in 75th place (35:11) and freshman Jordan Kray (Vallejo, Calif.) close behind in 77th place (35:29).
