WASHINGTON  - The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), were released and Gallaudet University sophomore Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) was named to the District 2 first team for Division III. Neild will now be added to the national ballot for the chance to earn Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Tuesday, June 4.

Neild becomes the first Google Cloud Academic All-District® softball team honoree to represent Gallaudet, the world's only university with programs and services specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students.

Neild is one of 13 selections on the Division III - District 2 team. Neild and Johnson & Wales infielder Ally Mishol are the only selections not from the state of New Jersey as The College of New Jersey led the way with three selections.

Neild, an education major, has the third highest GPA (3.98) among District 2 honorees. Neild was selected to the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) softball all-conference second team last week.

The NEAC has two members on the Google Cloud All-District® Team as Keuka College junior Jessie Hammers landed on District 3 (New York).

This is not Neild's first appearance on a Google Cloud All-District® Team. In fact, Neild was selected in February to the women's basketball All-District First Team. In March, she was named Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division III women's basketball after being selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® First Team.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. District Two is comprised of Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and West Virginia.
