WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 'Eye on America' will be focused on the Gallaudet University women's basketball team on Friday evening (January 28) when CBS Evening News with Katie Couric features the Bison program on 'The American Spirit' segment. CBS News reporter Wyatt Andrews came out to practice on Thursday, January 27, to interview Coach Kevin Cook along with four of the Bison players in seniors Easter Faafiti (Pittsburg, Calif.), Nukeitra Hayes (Anderson, Ind.), junior Andrea Amati (Frederick, Md.) and freshman Stephanie Weiss (Wellington, Fla.). The CBS crew stayed for the remainder of the practice. The feature will also show footage from last Sunday's thrilling 51-48 victory over SUNYIT at home.

The CBS Evening News appearance joins an on-going list of national and local media attention the Bison basketball team has received in the past few weeks. Gallaudet, ranked No. 20 in Division III, is currently 16-0 and off to its best start in program history. The Bison have also been featured by the Associated Press, The Washington Post and locally on Fox 5 (WTTG).
