WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women’s basketball program will participate in the 2nd annual National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp on June 26-30 at the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Md. The camp is open to high school girls’ basketball players and coaches. The cost of the camp is $200.
"This 'first-class' camp is all about providing mentorship/role models for deaf female athletes as well as developing opportunities for young student-athletes on and off the court,” said Gallaudet women’s basketball coach Stephanie Stevens. “Gallaudet's involvement will allow our current players to build and sustain relationships as well as develop coaching techniques for future coaching opportunities. The National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp is the only basketball camp for deaf females that provides direct communication amongst coaches and fellow campers while creating an unforgettable experience that cannot be found anywhere else."
