WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's basketball program will participate in the 3rd annual National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp on June 24-29 at the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Md.
The senior camp will be open to girls' basketball players in grades 6th through 12th. The cost for the camp is $225 for the early bird special if you sign up before April 15 and $250 after April 15. The camp is a residential camp.
The junior day camp will be open to girls' basketball players who are nine-years-old through 5th grade. The camp will run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The cost for the camp is $100 for the early bird special if you sign up before April 15 and $125 after April 15.
"This 'first-class' camp is all about providing mentorship/role models for deaf female athletes as well as developing opportunities for young student-athletes on and off the court," said Gallaudet women's basketball coach Stephanie Stevens. "Gallaudet's involvement will allow our current players to build and sustain relationships as well as develop coaching techniques for future coaching opportunities. The National Deaf Girls Basketball Camp is the only basketball camp for deaf females that provides direct communication amongst coaches and fellow campers while creating an unforgettable experience that cannot be found anywhere else."
