GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its conference student-athlete of the week awards for the week of Dec. 18 and Gallaudet University's junior Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) was selected as the NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Neild averaged 26.2 points per game in a two-game weekend. A junior guard/forward for the Bison, Neild scored 25 points with 11 rebounds, six steals and three blocks in a loss to Catholic University of America on Dec. 16. She closed out the weekend with 28 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and one block in a 53-48 loss to St. Mary's (Md.). Neild shot 46.2 percent from the field and from 3-point range while contributing 53 points, 24 rebounds, 13 steals, four blocks and one assist on the week.
This is Gallaudet's second NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season and Neild's second of her career.
Gallaudet is off until the New Year when the Bison (5-7, 3-1 NEAC) will go up against Lancaster Bible College (5-5, 4-0 NEAC) on January 9, 2018, on the road, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
