Neild earns third NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week award

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its conference student-athlete of the week awards for the week of Feb. 5 and Gallaudet University's junior Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) was selected as the NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Neild averaged 33.7 points per game in a three-game week for the Bison. She opened the week with 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-65 win at Penn State Abington. She added a career-high 37 points a loss at Morrisville State and finished the weekend with 34 points in a loss to SUNY Poly. For the week, Neild totaled 101 points, 18 rebounds, 14 steals, eight assists and four blocks. She shot 45.9 percent from the field, made 10 three-pointers and went 23-for-25 from the free-throw line in the Bison's 1-2 week.

This is Gallaudet's third NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season and Neild's third of her career.

GU (8-13, 6-7 NEAC) will host Bryn Athyn College (6-16, 3-10 NEAC) this Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Field House on Padden Court. The Bison will be wearing pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness. Fans are encourage to wear pink as well to show their support.
