Three Bison reach double figures in first conference loss of season

WASHINGTON - Junior Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) scored a team best 22 points here Tuesday night but it wasn't enough against Lancaster Bible College as Gallaudet University lost 73-63 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) women's basketball game.

Gallaudet (3-5, 2-1 NEAC) lost for the first time in conference play to the undefeated Chargers (4-3, 3-0 NEAC).

Neild scored seven of her first-half 11 points in the first quarter as she made 2 of 6 shots from the field as GU trailed 22-15. LBC led throughout the game and took a 39-31 lead into halftime. 

Neild grabbed eight rebounds to go with three steals and two assists. Junior guard Sabina Shysh (Tucson, Ariz.) added 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists while junior forward Kelli Barnes (Hope Mills, N.C.) scored 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

The Chargers had three players in double figures led by Kirsten Webster's 26 points as she made 14 of 18 shots from the free throw line. Guard Caitlin Hickey made a game-high five 3-pointers as she recorded 21 points. Forward Courtney Goyak secured the double-double with 11 points, 17 rebounds and six assists.

Gallaudet will wrap-up a three-game homestand on Thursday, Dec. 7, with a 5 p.m. non-conference game against Hollins University (1-6).
