Gallaudet women's basketball voted No. 6 in NEAC preseason coaches poll

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team was selected as the No. 6 team in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll announced Tuesday. The Bison accumulated 74 points in the 12-team preseason poll.

The Bison finished the 2017-18 season with a 13-14 record and 9-7 in conference play.

Keuka College, defending NEAC champion, checks in at No. 1 with 120 total points and 10 first-place votes. SUNY Poly was voted No. 2 with 101 points and two first-place votes followed by Lancaster Bible College (101), Morrisville State (89) and Penn St.-Abington (83).

Gallaudet opens the season on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Rutgers-Camden at 3 p.m.

The preseason poll rankings were conducted by the NEAC women's basketball coaches, with each coach ranking out all teams but their own using a staggered points system (11 points for a first-place vote, 10 points for second, etc.). No self-voting was allowed. This is the fourth year the NEAC has held preseason polls.
