Bison clipped by Cardinals, 76-64

WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University chased The Catholic University of America up and down Padden Court here Saturday in the Field House before the Bison fell 76-64 in a non-conference women's basketball contest.

Gallaudet (5-5) led early in the first quarter but had to play from behind for the remainder of the contest. Catholic (5-4) led 21-14 after the first quarter and took a 41-26 lead into halftime. The Cardinals led by as much as 25 points in the third quarter before the Bison cut the margin to 10 points, twice, in the final minutes of the fourth.

Three different Bison reached double figures led by senior guard Sabina Shysh (Tucson, Ariz.), who scored 22 points, grabbed five rebounds and passed out three assists. Fellow senior guard/forward Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) added 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and junior guard Kendall Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) chipped in 11 points.

Catholic was paced by Mollie Reynolds' 15-point game as she made three 3-pointers to go with seven assists, six rebounds and two steals. The Cardinals had five different players in double figures in the win.

Gallaudet will close out the semester tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 17) making the short trip to Arlington, Va., to take on Marymount (Va.) University (7-3) at 4 p.m.
