WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team dropped a hard fought North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match against Cazenovia College, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Hotchkiss Field.
Gallaudet (1-8, 0-6 NEAC) scored the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute as freshman Anastasia Murray (Raleigh, N.C.) pushed pass the defense on a breakaway, found the back of the net as Wildcat goalie Kara Locey (five saves) charged out but the ball got by her.
Cazenovia (5-5, 3-4 NEAC) answered back scoring the game's final three goals in the last 25 minutes of play. Junior Emily Graham (two goals, one assist) led the way with back-to-back goals in a 10-minute span and assisted Christina Clemente on the final Cazenovia goal in the 84th minute.
Junior goalkeeper Jennifer Livengood (Jacksonville, Fla.) held strong in the net for the Bison as she made 11 saves. Senior Sofia Lindevall (Stockholm, Sweden) took four shots, three shots on goal, for the Bison but struggled to find the back of the net.
The Wildcats outshot the Bison 30-8 and held a 6-1 edge in cornerkicks.
