Bison shutout on the road by Christendom

FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team falls on the road Wednesday to non-conference opponent Christendom College, 5-0.

Christendom (8-4) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of action as Jennifer Mersch put the Crusaders up 1-0. The Crusaders didn't look back as they scored four unanswered goals as Dylan Burgess and Anne Nelson both scored two goals apiece.

Gallaudet junior goalie Jennifer Livengood (Jacksonville, Fla.) stood tough against Christendom's attack as she saved 10 of the 15 shots on goal. The Crusaders outshot Gallaudet, 25-5, and took eight corner kicks. Freshman Forward Anastasia Murray (Raleigh, N.C.) had two of GU's five shots, one of which was on goal.

Gallaudet (2-11) returns to the field Saturday, Oct. 11, for an away North Eastern Athletic Conference game at 1 p.m. against SUNY Cobleskill.
