GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was picked 12th in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll announced on Thursday.
Gallaudet finished last season with a 3-16 record and 1-11 mark in conference play. The Bison accumulated 41 points in the 14-team preseason poll.
Three-time defending NEAC champion Penn St.-Berks is No. 1 as the Nittany Lions claimed 13 first-place votes and 169 points. Penn St.-Abington is second with 152 points while Lancaster Bible College checks in third with 128 points and one first-place vote to edge out SUNY Polytechnic Institute in fourth place.
The Bison begin the season on Sept. 2 at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference game.

The preseason poll rankings were conducted by the NEAC women's soccer coaches, with each coach ranking out all teams but their own using a staggered points system (13 points for a first-place vote, 12 points for second, etc.). No self-voting was allowed. This is the second year the NEAC has held preseason polls and they will now become a staple of all 18 conference-sponsored sports moving forward.
