Bison blanked by defending NEAC champions

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was shut out here Saturday afternoon at Hotchkiss Field by Penn St.-Berks, 6-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.

Gallaudet (5-3, 1-2 NEAC) sophomore goalie Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) made 13 saves in the loss. Freshman Sabrina Hernandez (Ashland, Va.) led the Bison with three shots. Freshman Danielle Wheeler (San Jose, Calif.) had GU's lone shot on goal as it came in the second half.

Penn St.-Berks (4-3-1, 3-0 NEAC), the four-time defending NEAC champions, was led by Melissa Martin's hat trick. The Nittany Lions led 3-0 at the half.

Gallaudet will travel to New York next weekend for a pair of NEAC games. The Bison will face SUNY Cobleskill (0-8, 0-2 NEAC) on Saturday, Oct. 7.
