Levesque named NEAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for second straight week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Oct. 15 and Gallaudet University junior goalie Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) earned the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for the second straight week. Levesque's defensive performance last Saturday in a shutout victory over SUNY Cobleskill helped the Bison pick up a key conference win.

Levesque earned her third shutout of the season as she stopped nine shots to help the Bison defeat the visiting Fighting Tigers, 2-0. She is 4-4 against NEAC opponents with 71 saves this season.

Penn St.-Berks senior forward Caitlin Golden earned NEAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season. She scored three goals and an assist in the Nittany Lions' 7-2 win over Cazenovia College. With the hat trick, Golden became the first player in program history to record 100 career goals.

This is Gallaudet's second NEAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors this season. This is Levesque's second NEAC weekly honor in her career.

Gallaudet travels to Arlington, Va., to play against Marymount University (3-9-1) in a non-conference game on Monday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m.
